DMCA / Copyright Policy
Cold Case Whisperer respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects visitors to do the same. This page explains how we handle copyright concerns.
Our Use of Images and Content
Case-related images used on this site (such as photographs of victims or persons of interest) are used for editorial, informational, and public-interest purposes related to documented criminal cases.
Where possible, we prioritize images that are part of the public record, such as official law enforcement photos. If you are a rights holder and believe an image or other content has been used improperly, we want to know and will address it promptly, as described below.
Filing a Copyright Complaint
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice to coldcasewhisperer@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Request,” including:
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) on this site where the material appears.
- Your name, contact information (email is sufficient), and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, made in good faith, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We review all complete notices and will remove or disable access to the material in question where warranted, typically within a few business days.
Counter-Notices
If you believe content was removed in error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address, including:
- Identification of the material removed and its location before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, contact information, and consent to jurisdiction in the appropriate US federal court.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Repeat Infringers
We reserve the right to remove content and restrict access for any user or source repeatedly associated with valid copyright complaints.
Note on This Process
We handle copyright concerns in good faith and aim to resolve them quickly and fairly. If you have any doubt about whether something qualifies as infringement, reach out, and we’ll work through it directly rather than leaving it unresolved.
